AIHMCT WAT is the Written Admission Test (WAT) conducted by Army Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (AIHMCT) in order to provide admission to candidates in the Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management (BHM) programme offered by it. However, WAT is now known as OAT, as the exam is no longer held in the written mode. The exam is now held online. OAT is of three hours duration. AIHMCT is affiliated with Bangalore University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is a NAAC accredited institute. The candidate should have passed 10+ 2 examinations or its equivalent in any academic stream with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates can also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that they produce proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission. Candidates can fill the application form for AIHMCT WAT either online or offline. In order to obtain the prospectus cum application form for Army Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology admissions, aspirants need to pay an application fee by means of a demand draft which is drawn in favour of “Army Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (AIHM & CT)” and is payable at Bengaluru. The prospectus and application form can also be obtained by hand from the college/Command HQs (AWES)/Army HQ (AWES). The prospectus cum application form can also be downloaded from the official website of AIHMCT. However, AIHMCT WAT application fee can only be paid by means of a demand draft (DD).
Admit card for AIHMCT WAT 2022 will be posted to applicants by registered post to the address provided by them on the application form for AIHMCT admissions.
Aspirants need to appear for the Written Admission Test for AIHMCT admissions which are of three hours duration. The candidates need to reach their allotted test centre for the AIHMCT WAT exam as per the date and time mentioned on their admit card. Candidates need to ensure that they reach their AIHMCT WAT exam centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the entrance test.
Result for AIHMCT WAT 2022 will be published in July 10 on the official website of the college. The merit list will then be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored by aspirants in the Written Admission Test. AIHMCT’s official website states: “In case of candidates securing equal marks, their relative merit will be reassessed inter-se on the basis of securing higher aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, ie, 10+2 or it's equivalent which will be given first preference. In case 10+2 or its equivalent marks has not been produced, the 10th std marks will be taken to reassess the merit”.
Candidates who have performed well in the written admission tests are then called for a counselling round that is conducted at AIHMCT Bangalore. Aspirants who are shortlisted for admission on the basis of their performance in the written admission test then need to appear for a personal interview round. The final merit list for admission in the BHM course offered at the Army Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology is prepared basis an aspirant’s performance in AIHMCT WAT and personal interview.
The top 60 students in the merit list are offered admission in Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management (BHM) course at Army Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology.

Admission will be strictly on merit, based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Online Admission Test (OAT). In case of candidates securing equal marks, their relative merit will be reassessed inter-se on the basis of higher aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, ie, 10+2 or it's equivalent which will be given first preference. In case 10+2 or its equivalent marks has not been produced, the 10th std marks will be taken to reassess the merit.
On the basis of performance in OAT, candidates will be called for counselling at AIHM&CT, Bangalore. The final selection will be based on the performance in the OAT followed by a personal interview. The first 60 merit listed candidates will be offered admission. The decision of the Managing Committee in the selection of the candidates will be final.
On receipt of an offer of admission, the candidate should acknowledge his/her acceptance to join the course with an Acceptance Fee of INR 15,000/- by NEFT in favour of
“Institute Fund, AIHM&CT” A/c No 64020010441, payable at State Bank of India, Hennur Road, Bangalore – 560 043, IFSC Code No SBIN0014933. The amount will be adjusted against the tuition fees on admission. The candidate who has accepted the offer of admission to the course but fails to join by the due date, forfeits his/her admission to the course for that particular year.
